4.3 / 5.0·750 ml·@Wix Kyiv Office · Rosso Oslavia
The intensity and thickness of this wine's nose are striking, with an amalgamation of jam, paint, iodine, cacao, tobacco, caramel, and rum. VA is masterfully woven into its structure, not only contributing to the complexity but also almost resurrecting the wine by elevating the palate. This results in a great balance, making the wine not only complex but also providing a warming, embracing sensation. The tannins and acidity are well-judged, complementing each other perfectly. The long aftertaste adds to the overall experience, making this wine not just delicious but also beautifully crafted.

Perched on its peak, this gem parades a nose rich in chocolate and red fruit jam, with earthy undertones and a hint of Madeira, elevated by just the right touch of volatile acidity for added complexity. The palate, vivacious even in maturity, is impeccably balanced, showcasing a robust structure and an unexpected juiciness. A round, tantalizing experience that hits the mark.
And let me brag a bit - I guessed the producer.

Dario Prinčič
Dario Prinčič established his namesake winery in 1993, marking a significant transition from his family's longstanding tradition of selling grapes to other local wineries. It wasn't long before Dario began to innovate; just six years into the winemaking business, he started experimenting with maceration techniques for white wines. This process imbued the wines with a remarkable complexity and texture, captivating Dario to such an extent that he resolved to apply maceration across his entire production in the subsequent year.
Today, Dario Prinčič's winery is a family-run affair, overseeing 10 hectares of densely planted vineyards. These vineyards are uniquely situated, benefiting from a soil composition rich in clay and sandstone, which is instrumental in the distinctive character and terroir expression of their wines. This combination of soil types contributes significantly to the depth and nuance found in their wine offerings.
Under Dario's guidance, the winery has become renowned for its commitment to natural winemaking practices. Dario Prinčič is often recognized as one of the trailblazers in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region for adopting and perfecting the art of extended skin contact in white wines. This innovative approach not only distinguishes their wines but also reflects a deep respect for tradition and a bold willingness to redefine it.
The Prinčič wines are celebrated for their rich, expressive nature, combining traditional techniques with a modern sensibility. By embracing the full potential of their grapes and terroir, the winery continues to be a testament to the evolution and diversity of Italian winemaking.
